Listening to Bob Dylan vol. 3

This time I listened to the following songs: "Mississippi", "Black Diamond Bay", "Cold Irons Bound", "It takes a lot to laugh, It takes a train to cry", and finally, "Gotta Serve Somebody". What a great first trio. If you suggested those three albums, Love & Theft, Desire and Time out of Mind were the three best Bob Dylan albums, you might not be crazy. Those are three incredible sparkling cathedrals, each novelistic in their storytelling. The first one might be Bod Dylan's best ever song -- it came out the day of 9/11. The second one, its aura cinematic and all-encompassing, is from Dylan's most underrated album in my eyes -- and it's one of the great masterpieces from that album. The one weak spot out of all those songs is, I suggest controversially, "It takes a lot to laugh, it takes a train to cry" which while smaller, more gentle than the first three, definitely felt like a weak spot. Ironically, "Gotta Serve Somebody" really picked things up for the finale.
