Masquerade: A Remake

I'm sure numerous writers would be up-in-arms by my decision to remake one of my books. That's right, entirely remake it as if it were a trashy Hollywood film. I just don't think I did the concept "girls wake up in the French Revolution" obvious justice the first time around. Everything was wrong. Even the title, "Masquerade", makes no damn sense. The inclusion of vampires was another big issue. In any case, here is the revised version:

Every time Annie (Antoniette) and her Girl Scout group fall asleep, they wake up in the French Revolution.

It was meant to be a normal girl scout trip into the woods, accompanied by their troop leaders, the naïve Capuchin and the creepy Jack Perrault. A long bus ride in the rain, however, and Annie and her friends have exactly the same dream: they are wearing ballgowns, dancing with soldiers, delighting beneath the Versailles moon. While they initially enjoy the cake and wine, rubbing shoulders with Louis and Lafayette, soon they face an unsettling truth -- it is the dawn of The Terror. Annie and her friends must escape Robespierre as she seeks to uncover the mystery.

I'll write this up some time in the new year but I've got a lot on my plate right now.
