Presence: Tchaikovsky

As I wrote Presence, I was listening to Tchaikovsky and, obviously, The Nutcracker and its themes of toys coming to life inspired me with the central monster of Presence: the evil toys that kill Carrie's friends. This, in a way, was a dark mirror of another winter novel, The Pixies, in which our villains are malevolent little creatures intent on causing anarchy. The Pixies itself was a malicious and ugly novel I wrote during one of the most frightening moments of my life. Presence, on the other hand, was very pleasant. Probably due to the Tchaikovsky.
