Salem to Salem: The White Album

As the big twist of Salem to Salem is that the pilgrim town council, Peddlarson and co, are a Manson-Family-style hippie cult who have time-travelled from the Sixties, it made sense to include various references to Manson's "text", the Beatles' White Album. Personally, I used to love the White Album (actually just called The Beatles; "The White Album" is its street name". The big reference throughout the book is the prevalence of the word "Pig" and the "piggy" masks that the fake witches wear after they have been given LSD by Peddlarson and his Family. This, as any aficionado knows, is a reference to the George Harrison song, "Piggies" but also a reference to the word "PIG" which was painted by a Manson family member on the Sharon Tate house after being advised to leave "something witchy" at the crime scene.
