The Summer of '22

Top Gun. Everything, Everywhere. Glastonbury back on TV. Three Prime Ministers. Working as a bartender in Oxford for the last time then working in Bristol during the hottest UK summer ever. It was the best UK summer ever. For me, anyway. The two books I wrote during that summer, Salem to Salem and Rosalie, are tattooed on my heart (not really), and I'm prone to saying corny things about them. Really, there's a lot of darkness to that summer. I was just out of this harsh, unpleasant period of my life which was absolute hell and torture and for the first time since 2018, I was happy again.


There's just something about Bristol as a city. It revigorates you. Oxford was old, Victorian, older even, feudal. Bristol felt like the 21st century, and living there again was exploding into the modern age.
