Thoughts on Joe Biden's Legacy

I don't often post politics here for obvious reasons. There's too much politics everywhere these days. You can go anywhere you want to find politics. Nobody really goes to this page for it. I'm not going to tell you who to vote for. If I could tell you who to vote for, it would be for the candidate who shares your moral values. Over the last few election cycles, we've been told so many times to grin and swallow it and pick the lesser of two evils. I think that the worst thing in life is to consign yourself to the least bad option. Especially if the least bad option still gives you constant pain.
For some voters in the 2024 US Presidential election, I'm sure the least bad option was the worst option. If you cared deeply, and most people did, about Israel's genocide in Gaza, then voting for Kamala Harris was basically an endorsement of Joe Biden and, by extension, of absolute horrific, abominable mass murder. I was shocked and horrified by how bloodthirsty Israel's military actions were in Gaza to begin with but wasn't ready to call it genocide until recently. Of course, I wanted the bombing to stop as soon as it started; it shouldn't have started. While I deplored the October 7th attacks, I do feel that Israel's leadership should have responded in a better way than killing everything in sight.
Certainly, that Biden jumped in and immediately gave Israel weapons without being asked and kept giving them weapons even when everyone was telling him to stop, that was something that boggled my mind. Nobody asked him to do this. I'm sure Israel asked him to show support, sure, but not sending masses of weaponry and keeping on sending masses of weaponry when, even as someone supportive of Israel, I think it's fair to say Israel was already better-armed than Palestine.
That Biden so flagrantly tied himself to Israel's genocide, so much that he more than earned the name "Genocide Joe", basically torched his legacy and gave Trump landing lights for 2024.
Once again, I support Israel as a country. Every country does bad things. My country the UK has been complicit in countless genocides. Israel deserves to exist and has a right to. I don't have a problem with the people of Israel. I have a problem with Netanyahu and his number one backer, Joe Biden.
