Listening to Bob Dylan Vol.5

When I listen to Bob on Spotify, I listen on shuffle. Shuffle loves reccomending me Blonde on Blonde. What other Bob Dylan fans would consider Heaven, what I consider a form of purgatory. Every time I listen to Blonde on Blonde, I ask myself -- is this really his best album? It was, after all, cited as the best album of his by the Nobel Prize committee. Instead, when I listen on shuffle, what I'm really waiting for are the Time out of Mind songs. The thing is, while Blonde on Blonde is impressive, it comes off as pretentious. Time out of Mind for me comes off as the Great American Novel. I've heard criticisms of it that suggest it is just a blues band working their way through songs; that's part of the genius of it. When Bob was younger, he used to sing about blues bands in bars. In Time out of Mind, he is inside that bar and you are there with him.
